On 28 and 29 March in Moscow, under the title "Strengthening cooperation between institutions of higher education in Russia and Ibero-America", the Second Meeting of Rectors of Russian and Ibero-American Universities was organized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and the Universidad.es Foundation, with the support of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities.

The meeting was inaugurated by the Spanish Minister of Education, Ángel Gabilondo, and the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Andrei Fursenko, and was attended by more than 150 participants, including rectors and heads of Russian and Ibero-American higher education institutions.

During the working sessions, participants discussed priority areas for cooperation, opportunities for exchange programs for students and teachers, areas for linguistic cooperation, and innovation and knowledge transfer between universities and business.

This meeting, part of the program of events planned for the Dual Year of Spain and Russia, follows the one held in Madrid in March 2009, which was attended by His Majesty the King of Spain and the President of Russia.

Universidad.es Foundation is strengthening its role as a bridge between university systems in different continents and as the promoter of the Spanish university system worldwide.
