This section describes the projects of non-oriented fundamental research currently being carried out by Spanish universities and funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, under the auspices of the National Plan for R+D+i.

 
These projects involve experimental or theoretical studies that lead to new breakthroughs in particular areas of science and technology.
 
The Directorate General for Research and Management of the National Plan for R+D+I (Dirección General de Investigación y Gestión del Plan National de R+D+i) is responsible for all aspects of the award of aid for research and for the follow-up of the projects granted.
