Spain, the third largest country in Europe, is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.

In 2008, Spain received 57.4 million tourists, mostly from the UK, Germany and France. Among non-Europeans, US citizens are the most frequent visitors.

Traditionally, the arrival of the tourists is concentrated in the summer months (from June to September). However, this tendency has begun to change in recent years, as tourists now come to Spain throughout the year.
