Student residences
There are several types of student residences. Some, though not all, depend on educational institutions. The websites of the education authorities provide lists of residences classified by province:
Mastermas
Colegios mayores
Colegios mayores are residences that are generally attached to the universities. For more information, please consult the website of the "Consejo de Colegios Mayores":

Accommodation with a family
Living with a Spanish family is an interesting way of getting to know the country, its culture and people. It is also provides plenty of opportunities for practising the language.
Some universities have services that organize accommodation in families. Please consult section 2.3 “Who’s who at Spanish universities” to see whether your university offers
this service.
Internet is also an excellent resource for making contact with Spanish families interested in offering accommodation to students and researchers.
Flat rental
A common practice among Spanish students is to share a rented flat. Rents vary widely depending on the city and on the number of flatmates. In Internet there are numerous agencies offering this type of accommodation like
Aluni.net where, in addition to having the option to share apartments with other students, or live with Spanish families, they offer the possibility to stay with senior citizens that live alone and would like to take in a University student into their home.
