In terms of transport infrastructures, Spain is now one of the world’s most modern nations: we have one of the most important high-capacity rail networks in Europe; we are among the countries with the most kilometres of highspeed rail tracks; and our companies are also global leaders in the infrastructures sector.

Spain’s cities offer a full range of public transport facilities:

  • Taxis: Spain has a large taxi fleet, though the numbers vary depending on the city. Taxis can be reserved at any time of day, 365 days a year.

  • Many Spanish cities are connected by high speed trains known by the acronym AVE (Alta Velocidad Española). RENFE is Spain’s State railway network.
